Problem with orthodontist?

Question:

ok so i got my top braces (damon) on in january. and i usually went once a month usually around the 10th-12th. but the last time i went was may 12th and i was supposed to get my bottom ones on in june, but recently my orthodontist got kidney cancer and they are trying to find a replacement. and i want to know since i havent seen him in a couple of months will that mess up my schedule for when they come off?

First of all.it is hard to say if you will have to have the bottom ones on longer or not (depends on your teeth) Not seeing your orthodontist as scheduled will effect your treatment time. If you have an overbite then you really need to get the bottom ones on. You do not have to wait until another orthodontist takes his place all you have to do is call another orthodontist in your area and let them know the situation and they can request your records and they can put your bottom ones on and continue your treatment and any money that you have with the old orthodontist will be transfered over to your new one to finish treatment.
