The Ortho will tell you want you can and can't eat - no gum, sticky candy, no popcorn, cut up fruit instead of just taking a bite out of it - anything that hurts, you won't eat.
Take Tylenol for the pain and wear your wax. You will adjust.
for the first bit they do hurt, so stay awayfrom hard foods. every time you get new bands it hurts a little. it doesn't last thatt long tho. iv had them for 3 yrs :[
Nope... but whenever you have them on for 1st time, you won't be able to eat anything for about a week.
just when you get them tightened. so the first time you get them on they hurt (because they tighten them) and basically every appointment after that. but it only lasts a day or two..and the pain kind of moves around in your mouth depending on what part of your mouth is being fixed at the time. it's not that bad though. it's almost like all your teeth are kinda loose..and that's why it hurts so much to eat. but like i said..it moves around your mouth..so you can just chew on the side that isn't hurting.
for the first time you get your braces on, they hurt ALOT for about a week, but this variates among different people. so stay away from hard foods during this time. and every time you go tightening your teeth, they don't hurt as the first time you got it, but they do hurt for 1 day ir so, YOULL GET USE TO THEM DONT WORRY! :)
they hurt when you get them tightened. You eat what doesn't hurt you, and what won't get stuck in your teeth.
