my dentist put a rubber band to separate my teeth but i accidently took it out cuz i thought it was food. anyways it was falling off. it's been a month so my teeth got crooked again. so when the dentist put like a rubber band in or something it slipped and he ACCIDENTLY scratched my gum. it's like a two inch scratch. it hurts like hell. HELP?

ambesol - over the counter, will help numb it.
kanka - over the counter, will make a protective coat on it to make it feel better.
rinse with warm salt water - will help it heal faster, keep it clean.
good luck, try not to think about it and aggravate it, the more you rub your tongue over it the more you will agitate it.
