those whitening strips or gels whiten teeth really well. toothpaste probably won't help.
i'd use crest white strips or whitening gel. it's super cheap and works really well.
it will take one or two weeks but sometimes that's probably necessary if you don't want to hurt your teeth with a formula that's too strong.
I don't feel that they whiten very well. The best way to go is professional whitening and then use the toothpaste to keep them white.

Okay I must tell you, and this is from experience. I had very yellowish teeth, my doctors said it was from antibiotics or something crazy. I got them professionally whitened when I was like 10.
