not being able to eat things more will cause you to lose weight. my grandma knows someone that was overweight and then got braces and it average weight now. so no.
Soft food is easier to digest, so you don't feel as full. You're not hurting your body, as long as you're not swallowing stuff that you really should have chewed better; you want to be careful that you don't choke or swallow something that hurts going down.
The one problem is that, while the soft food may not feel satisfying, it's usually high in fat, carbs and such, so you sometimes end up gaining a little weight. If you're worried about that, just read the labels and eat smart. Also, eating stuff that's high in fiber helps you stay full; look for whole-grain stuff with 4g of fiber or more per serving to help you feel full. Another way to watch the weight is to opt for sugar-free stuff.
I have temporary crowns on my front teeth right now, so I'm on the same soft diet as you are. Some stuff I've been eating are Stove Top stuffing (they sell canisters that make single servings), yogurt, creamed soup, mac and cheese, cheesecake, fruit, pudding, jello, tuna salad. Meal replacement diet drinks are awesome too, because they have all the healthy stuff you need, don't have to be chewed, and have fiber to keep you feeling full longer.
I wouldn't worry much about the weight, since you won't be doing this for long. Personally, I'm just so grateful to find something I can eat that tastes good that I don't care if it's healthy or not right now! Hope this helps!
Not
I know that eating soft foods will go through you faster the the harder foods so it seems like you havent eatten much. I think when i am eating more soups or apple sauces, milk shakes, and etc... you seem to be hungry more and more cause they go through you.
Just keep eating healthy soft foods. Dont start eating alot of high in fat soft foods. You might want to try drinking ENSURES while you are unable to eat hard food that will help.
