Why do teeth crowd and still emerge when there's no space?

Question:
Wisdom teeth for example. Why do they still push their way out of the gums to emerge even when there's no room? Don't teeth give each other some signal to stop pushing and causing pressure when they are contacting each other?

Answers:
Teeth don't have a mind of their own. They are simply doing what they're supposed to... erupt. Despite the fact there is no room, they'll continue to erupt. Usually, when there is no room, they grow in impacted, either mesially (towards the front) or distally (towards the back). This is one main reason wisdom teeth are removed.
lol it doesnt work that way, if theyre there to grow theyre gonna grow no matter what

im lucky, i had no wisdom teeth :X and my teeth are naturally straight, im pretty lucky

My science teacher said in about maybe...I can't remember the exact time frame? 100 years? 200 years?

Wisdom teeth will finally be gone.
Her husband didn't get any, but she did. All four.

I'm going to hate it so much, if I have to get wisdom teeth.
