How Painfull is it when you get braces put on?

Question:
How long does the pain last?

Answers:
it depends, it varies from person to person. for me, it was a very small aching, except for when something touched my teeth, so i ate soup and pudding. as far as i can remember it lasted probably about three days? not that bad. getting them tightened supposedly hurts alot, but i've never experienced pain at a tightening. the one thing you have to look out for is elastics. they are insanely painful, but you HAVE TO WEAR THEM if you want your braces off anytime in the next century. good luck picking out colours for the bands! (and make sure you're stocked up on soup)
it doesnt pain while their doing it. it hurts for a bunch of days after they put them on - the first night is GHASTLY. but the pain doesnt last for more than a week (i PROMISE), and everytime it does hurt, you tell yourself 'its okay, its okay, the pain is pushing my teeth back, its making me look good', and youll do fine. popping a couple of painkillers (in the course of that week, i mean, NOT everyday!) helps, too.

but the pain is WORTH IT, i assure you!
My boy had braces on a few years ago. He didn't complain at all really. They even have cool colors to choose from and lots of other kids had them so he had a good experience. So I wouldn't worry. Make sure you thank your parents because they cost alot of money! Good luck.
My 2 friends have braces. And they tell me how pain full it is. They said it hurts kinda bad but not as much as getting them tightend. The pain last for up to 2 days and could be a little bit of 3 days.
When I first got my braces on it didn't hurt that much, what does hurt is when they tighten them and that usually lasts a couple of days.
4 me the pain lasted 2 weeks 4 some people it last's 2 or 3 months. it all depends on the person. i've had my braces on for 5 months already. i can't even feel them. once u get them on the will hurt i'm not going to lie, but take some tylenol or advil and they will not hurt.
Not much just really uncomfortable your teeth feels sensitive a few days after but thats just beause your teeth isn't used to so much force.
