Re-using rubber bands for braces?

Question:
I'm wearing rubber bands to correct my midline. I lost BOTH packs that they gave me, and my orthodontist office is about a half hour away and it is very inconvenient to go all the way there just to pick up rubber bands. Aside from being unsanitary, why can't I re-use the rubber bands I haven't lost? Could I use them if I was really desparate, or do they stretch out after a while?

Answers:
You could re-use them but it is kind of unsanitary...make sure you rinse them. Also they are going to get a little stretched out if you use them a lot but it's better than not wearing any rubber bands at all.
To the person who said "rubber band don't apply the correct pressure on the teeth", of course they do! That's why the orthodontist tells you to wear them!
Anyway, a half an hour isn't that long and in the long run it'll be worth it. You want your braces taken off ASAP, don't you?!
You could use them but, make it a point to get some new ones... the rubber bands will eventually stretch out and it will defeat the purpose of even having them. So the longer you wait to get new ones the more time you add on to keeping your braces.
Rubber band don't apply the correct pressure on the teeth they could be to loose or tight which allow the teeth to be pushed to tight or not doing much at all
THE DENTIST BRACES ARE FITTED TO PULL THE TEETH IN AND ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME PRESSURE
