I had a tooth extracted and it still hurts a week later?
Question:
Answers:
Hello,Best take painkillers for it, and yes rinse(disinfect) your mouth frequent besides the normal other teeth hygiene.
If the pain after a few weeks is still there go to a other dentist a check it out.
I hope it gets better soon!
It's totally normal for it to hurt a week later.
If it hurts though, rinse your mouth with
hot water and a little bit of salt and it
will feel better.
I had a molar removed and it was somewhat painful, but after a week i was feeling better!
Hope you do too!
If the pain is still there after a week...then I might consider getting it checked out!
Wisdom teeth are known to be a pain the ****! You're fine, most people will be in pain for a couple of weeks, if not mild pains up to a month and even a little bit more. Stick with tylenol or advil for the moment. If it's still really bad later on, give your dentist a call, he'll be more than happy to help.
A very common problem after an extraction is called 'dry-socket'
Smoking increases this risk. Try taking a flash light and looking at the extraction site in the mirror. If you see a white/yellowish pointy thing sticking out, you may have dry-socket. If the problem persists, it won't get better unless you get medical attention from your dentist.
tThe real truth it took about two weeks for my tooth extraction to settle down. You may want to go back and get a check up and see if it isn't infected.
This takes time. Hang in there.
After a wisdom tooth removal it can be tender for awhile but you should still call in and make sure what you are feeling is normal. There a chance you could have an infection. Yiou can try an advil or other antriinflammatory and an ice pack to help releive the pain. Also gargling with warm salt water might help too. I'm not a dentist fan either but making sure everything is ok sure beats something worse later on.
I would say most likely it's a wisdom tooth, if not at least a bad tooth. I had 4 wisdom tooth before, and same as you...freak out at the thought of pulling them out. But eventually, the wisdom tooth turned bad (which causes the aching in the first place) causes infection, and I constantly get pus around the bad tooth. Causes bad breath as well. So my advice, Take it out once and for all.
its understandable that it still hurts, but you probly need some pain medicine if it is hurting so badly. now this will require going back to the dentist...
dont be afraid of the dentist, a lot of people are because they can sometimes cause pain which is what im guessing scares you. but going this time shouldnt cause you any pain, just relieve pain, so dont be afraid.
you might not even have to go at all though, just call up your dentist and tell them whats going on and maybe they can perscribe something over the phone for you.
until then i recommend ibuprofen :]
