Why do teeth fillings hurt when they touch metal?
Question:
Answers:
Ask your dentist if he/she can replace these fillings with the composite (the white non-metal stuff).
I have all white fillings and they are painless. This might cost some big $$. But, it's worth it.
Metal conducts heat and cold. And, it goes right to your nerve.
I think it is because the metals in the filling react with other metals...It is a small chemical reaction and can cause the metal to react adversely...Making it expand.
I have no idea wonderd that myself for 25 years
your fillings hurt when they touch metal because your teeth are direcly connected to nerves, specificly nerve number 10. Any how, remember that nerves conduct electricity just like other wires. They transmit impulses. Therefore, when u bite down on metal it goes to the nerve and it is like an electric shock. sorry about your pain,
