When can you expect to see changes in your teeth after getting braces?

Question:
Does it take weeks, months or a year before you see your teeth changing? I get mine tomorrow to close the gaps I have.

oh sweety...it will be ok..you will see...and i m sure that the result will be FANTASTIC! look, i had had braces for a year and a half.i could see the results from the 7th month...but nobody can tell you when your teeth will be nice since you havent mentioned for how long you will be having the braces.add it and i will answer again...
oh and the guy below is right! and i had had all these things too at the same time..but now i love my teeth!!
It takes a few months to see results. Moving teeth is difficult and can be uncomfortable. They can only tighten the wire so much at a time. I had orthodontics starting in grade 6 until grade 10. I still wear my retainers one night every week or two (I'm 24 now).

Sometimes, when your lower jaw has to grow to catch-up with your upper jaw, it takes a year or two. That's what headgear is for. That part took 18 months for me. I had braces on for 3 years. Every month or so, I would have an appointment to tweak my devices and my teeth gradually became straight.

Good luck and don't worry about it.
I got my top ones in January and they are already straight, they have to do some fine tuning on my bite, but as far as the crooked ones, they are now straight...so I would say you will definitely notice in a few months.
