Absessed tooth??
Question:
Answers:
Yes, an abscessed tooth will eventually result in pain if left untreated; it has also been know to cause death when not treated with the proper antibiotics and dental treatment.
Additional information: An abscess leads to the tooth's tissue swelling, making the tooth "taller" than the others since it's being pushed up or out, deterioration of the bone surrounding the tooth affected and the tooth will become loose and the nerve of this tooth will die requiring a root canal and crown/build up to be preformed to save the tooth. It sounds less painful than it actually is.
It can, but sometimes not. It usually has a blister like bubble associated with it on the gum and is very dangerous if not treated. The reason why is because it can infect the blood stream and cause many problems possibly even death. So if you have what you believe to be and absessed tooth get it taken care of ASAP.
OMG YES, I have one now actually, I went to the dr. Friday and they gave me antibiotics, and paid meds. I go in 2 weeks to an oral surgeon to get it removed. I promise that was the worst pain I think i have ever been in! Go get it fixed...if it gets infected, thats just PAIN PAIN PAIN waiting to happen!
I experienced the WORST pain ever before I found out I had an abscess a couple of weeks ago. Sleepless nights, and nothing would make the pain go away... unitl I went to the dentist and started taking antibiotics (amoxicillin and flagyl) for 10 days, and then got a root canal which didn't hurt at all.
I strongly suggest you go to the dentist, or an endodontist for that matter, ASAP.. the pain only gets WORSE and WORSE! Also, losing your teeth will be the least of your troubles.
Get well and take care!!
