I have a dentists appointment today for a new filling. Should I have an injection?
Question:
Answers:
It depend on how big the filling is. If the cavity is small you can go without.
Yes you should or there may end up being a Jimmy Mac shaped hole in the surgery ceiling.
for a FILLING?
don't be a whuzz, dear.
Yes
Obviously its up to you, but I would say no. I'm no hard nut when it comes to pain, but a filling, whilst unpleasant, is usually done fairly quickly, whereas having a large needle pushed into your gums then having a numb face all afternoon is more trouble than its worth I reckon.
Grin and bear it!
In the gum, it eases the pain some what.
what times your appointment --mine`s two thirty.lol
unless u enjoy pain - yes
obviously..but if you decide not to please tell us all what the pain was like...remember the film Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier?
It depends on your pain-threshold which varies from person to person and the size of the hole to be drilled. Also, if your dentist has one of the new laser drills, you will feel very little. Anyway, the local anesthetics is relatively safe and the initial prick is nothing compared to what you could suffer without it.
I never have injections for any dental work except for having teeth out.
I find that the effect of the injections is worse than the few minutes they do the work on your teeth.
But then I dont like injections!
The tooth being filled without anaesthetic is the lesser evil!
Probably. I had four, and it still killed. I was out the chair! Sadists used a pair of scissors to prod the raw nerve, as I could identify which tooth it was that was hurting!
