Sounds like you just got braces on.
All i can suggest is to tough it out and let the skin in your mouth toughen up to the metal cuts.
use wax, that always helped me
Go to the drug store and get some "brace wax". It is soft wax rope - kind of spendy for what it is, but a life saver. Put a string of wax over the braces and push it down. Fixed! I'm surprised your orthodontist didn't send you home with some.
It depends if you have the mini braces or the old fashioned ones. I had the old ones years ago and it rubbed the inside of my mouth like crazy. i lost 15 pounds just because it hurt to eat. They gave me wax stuff to put in my mouth and that helped also try ambesol; or ice too
I have braces too and mine did that when i first got them. Go to the orthodonist and tell them about the problem. For me, they put thicker colored bands on so the part thats ripping is no longer there and under the bands! Also, i would NOT try wax. Wax just is annoying and gets stuck every brace so dont use wax and try thicker color bands. It stopped the ripping on mine, hope it stops on yours too!
When I had braces, my orthodontist actually gave me this wax stuff that you could ball up and stick on your braces, so that it would be smoother over the surface and not rub your lip. It was free and all I had to do was ask, so hopefully that'll help!
Otherwise, this sounds weird, just get a piece of plain white bread and stick it over the brace that's bothering you and usually it'll adhere for a little while. Temporary relief, if nothing else!
try using the wax, if that doesn't work, make an orthodontist appt, is it the wire or the brace? if it's the wire, you can try to bend the sharp part in.
LOTS OF BALLS OF THAT WAX!! It use to cut my lips badly too until I applied wax on my braces before going to bed. If that's not enough, put something else between your inner lip and braces, such as a little pieces of cloth.
Dry the brackets thats bothering you and add wax to it
if you got any wax use it but if you didnt at your next appointment ask for some.
This is really funny.I just got braces a month ago.I was taking the bag of laundry by the plastic handle.Suddenly the handle broke and I punched myself!It tore my lip!It hurts.I just got my teeth tightend a couple od days ago.I have like a blister on the inside of my mouth.Did you get wax?You can put it on your braces so when your lips rub againts the braces it will seem like you don't have braces!Well to me it does!Take care.
use the wax. If you didn't get any from your orthodontist, you can probably get some at your grocery store or local pharmacy. The wax will help a ton. I had braces over 4 years ago, and I still have indents in my lower inner lip from where my braces cut in.
