The extraction site is still bleeding after 48 hrs...?

Question:
My tooth got extracted 48 hours ago and it is still bleeding... What should I do? I tried the teabag method but it does't make a difference. Give me some tips!

Answers:
Call your dentist and see if he or she wants to see you or call in a prescription. For now, take Motrin or ibuprofin (no asprin--it's a blood thinner and will make your bleeding worse). But definitely call the dentist as soon as possible! If the office is closed, see if they have a number to call in case of emergencies. Bleeding 48 hours after a procedure is too long! Good luck and I hope it clears up!
I would go back to your dentist to check the extraction sight. You have a problem with clotting lay off the asprin as well since this is a blood thinner.
I would like to know how much bleeding are u talking about. Little bleeding is okay, but a lot bleeding then there is a problem. See your dentist as soon as possible. But before that biting on "Wet"(my mother-in-law was biting on a dry one.didn't work) tea bag usually clears up the problem but don't bite on it too hard. Try not to disturb the area and ice it down. If you are taking any type of blood thinner(aspirin..etc) please stop but be sure to check with your medical doctor 1st. Try not to rinse your mouth too much and do not spit out your blood. Avoid any hot food or liquid. Drinking cold liquid may help. But call your dentist ASAP find out why.
