Answers:
Hi there a lot of people are terrified of going to the dentist and the simple answer to your question is yes, they do conscious sedation, you are awake but you have no memory of what has happened or what you do. The pricing system for nhs dentistry has changed and it is now 15.90 for a check up including a clean and x rays, 43.60 for treatment excluding crowns bridges or dentures. If you need any crowns dentures it would be 194.00.
Yes in certain cases, i have a friend who is afraid of the dentist and he goes to the local dental clinic and does not pay anything, i should imagine by the prices charged at my dentists it will cost a fortune
Im the same as you. I told my dentist i was scared and she was lovely about it. I needed 2 fillings and told her if she put anything pointy or sharp in my mouth id bite her lol so she gave me some valium and i was fine didnt feel a thing. Just tell your dentist how affraid you are and they should be understanding.
They do not offer a general anaesthetic anymore...if they did it would cost a fortune as they would have to employ an anaesthetist.but they are a lot better than they used to be and can deal with terrified patients.the pain relief is excellent, and you will be OK.go and see one first and seek their advice.I don't like them either, but you do need to go on a regular basis otherwise the course of treatment can take months.
Yes they still offer gas, there are lots of people terrified of the dentist, they would be losing a lot of money if they didn't, as to the cost I'm sure it doesn't cost much more or less than an injection. Once its done its done and you'll not need to worry for a year or two, good luck.
Yes, dentists still put patients to sleep for procedures...it's just a matter of finding a dentist who will do so. The cost of your GA (General anesthetic) will depend on the dentist and anesthesiologist (a Dr. who administers he anesthetics which put you to sleep). There are some specialty dental university facilities which may be able to help you with this as well.

PS I have been told (and this is just for where I am living/California) that it's a cost of approx. $500. Perhaps it depends on the length of procedure, etc.
i have bad tooth 2 have 2 go out me 2 scared feal for u yes they do still put u 2 sleap dodt know how much keap strong 2 weaks
Some dentists offer this service and no, it's not cheap.

Nitrous oxide is used to make you care less about your treatment, but it is not intended to put you to sleep. It's relatively cheap.
