My son tooth is not growing,is this normal?

Sometimes the secondary teeth do take longer than a few weeks to erupt, but the three month delay is probably longer than is typical. Usually the baby teeth fall out because the roots begin to decay and the secondary teeth push them out. But if the baby tooth is damaged and falls out or is removed before it was naturally ready, then the secondary tooth might not be ready to erupt. The bump you saw may have been due to an infection.
You should discuss this with your child's dentist. (I do hope your child sees the dentist regularly. He should see the dentist for check-ups twice a year. Children should begin dental care when they have teeth.)
your son is 5 years old and havent had any teeth? or 5 months? well 5 years old? then yes there is a prob... but 5 months no...

yap,it is normal.
Not necessarily. Your sons tooth may have fell out before the one behind it has formed. Some teeth fall out once the next tooth begins to grow and pushes the other tooth out of the way. If the replacement tooth had not grown it could be a few months before the new tooth is visible. The best thing to do is to check with your dentist. Since you said the area was swollen before the tooth came out, there could be a possibility that the tooth came in crooked or is sitting sideways in which case it will not protrude through the gums. The dentist could fix that with oral surgery if needed. Regardless, he can take an x-ray and let you know what the real issue is.
