Well I have a gap and I am probably getting braces. Just tell your dentist, you want them for esthetics reason. Just say you wish to have a nice straight smile and he will consider it.

I don't see how braces can fix a gap. I think they only fix protruding teeth. When I had a gap in my childhood, my mom put a small stick in it and I kept it there for a couple of hours. Now nobody can tell I had a gap.

no i dont think u need braces becuz having gap in your front teeth is not bad.. and even the dentist doesnèt recommend it so i dont think u need them... and with the braces sometimes teeth get messed up.. so u dont want your teeth to get messed up..
not always... some people make careers out of "not so perfect" teeth, see Madonna... and i also know guys that say that say they fell in love with their significant other by their "crooked" smile...
you can get the gap filled if you know a good dentist,had it done myself
my daughter had a gap in her front teeth, i loved it, and always thought of anyone who had it as lucky, dentist said she would have to have her gum cut if teeth were to move together, but i said no, she had a brace 2 years ago, and her front teeth have no gap. she needed a brace to make the rest of her teeth straight, but it closed the gap as well. if your teeth are fine, other than the gap, then you do not need a brace.

Next time to the dentist's tell your dentist to put on the waiting list and when you go and see your orthodontist they will tell you whether you need them or not. They are the experts, my dentist said the same but my mum told her to add me on and now I've got braces on and my teeth have straighten out and the gap has closed up. So tell your mum to tell the dentist to add you to the waiting list (it might take time).
I don't know why dentists say you don't need maybe they are trying to save money for the NHS. Who Knows??

well if your dentist, mom, and orthodontist dont think you need braces then you shouldn't get them. It's as easy as that!

Yes. If you have a gap they can just put braces on your top teeth. If you feel like you need braces go to a local orthodontist and have them look at your teeth. They know if you will need them or not.

well if your a male you should get brces around like 16 14 15 or something like that if your younger thats probly why but if your female and if your any age its possible you need em but do whatever the dentsit says they'll know when or fit you'll need em ever
If your still young your teeth and mouth are still growing and shifting. If the dentist said no braces then probably not.
