Are braces worth it?

Question:
Well I have a gap in my teeth and it realy bugs me!! I would be able to afford them it is no money question but is it worth it. People say to get them between 7 and 12 and i am 14. Is it worth it? Or should i keep my gap and live with?

I don't know but please tell me your advice!!

Answers:
yes it is. a year or two now saves a lifetime of being self concious
totaly worth it
Yes
get them. Youll love the ending results.

I did :)
Get it if it bothers you that much.
It's okay that you're a little older.
yes if you need them.
You are 14, go ahead and get it now. Probably don't want to wait till you're older. You can also look into invisiline(sp?), but I think those take longer.
Yea if you want to have perfect teeth well its youre choice actually
So worth it! As long as you wear your retainers after.
yes they are worth it u will be happy later on in life...
depends on how you look and feel about yourself
its sooo worth it, i mean imagine your wedding pictures and having a huge gap, if the dentist says yeah and you can afford braces then go ahead and get 'em now!!
Yes I know it's wrong to judge people by their looks, but a beautiful smile is a healthy smile.

Plus, a pretty smile can make you feel more confident, like wearing a new shirt or getting a cool haircut.
I am 14 and have braces. and i can already see the ending is going to be great.
It is only worth it if you are really going to wear your retainer the full time you are supposed to. Otherwise, your teeth will shift really quickly and all that time and pain will be wasted.
Yea! I had braces when I was 13! And i know people that had them im High School! Its totally worth it!
it depends on how bad the gap bothers you. i had one when i was young and had brace put on my 2 front teeth and i think it made a world of difference. look at modonna she has a gap and it doesn't seem to bother her.
YES. it may hurt to get the braces. and it may be hard to live with them, but when you grow older, it will be totally worth it!
Definitely worth it! I'm 15 and I'll be getting mine very soon. Consider your future, a lot of people regret not getting them in the past, if you get braces now you'll have perfect teeth in the future. Better now than never!
I've never had braces but if it helps, Maranda on Sex & the City had braces and she was about 35 in that episode! I think if it bothers you then fix it now rather than later. Although, Madonna has a famous gap! Some guys think it's really sexy. xx
If your gap bugs you that bad, then maybe. but can u actually see the gap? i say you should be happy with the way you are.
Yes. They did a lot for me when I wore them. They corrected my teeth and I didn't feel so self-concious about them when I was talking to people.
Absolutely worth it. Just think all thoughout high school you wont have to worrry about that gap because the braces will be off by the time you 15 or 16 depending on how big the gap is.
Yes they are worth it. But you'll have to get used to them being uncomfortable. Also if you don't wear the retainer afterwards, then the process will reverse, so you have to be devoted to following the orthodontist's orders.

I wanted a great smile that'll last for the rest of my life, and I think braces boosted my self-esteem with a pretty smile
I think that you should. I say that 14-16 is a good age limit for getting braces. b/c if you get them to young they can go back to the way they are but if you get them around the age limit I said a take good care of your teeth and wear the retainer after. They will look gorgeous. My 3 older sibling got them around 16 years olld. And all of them have gorgeous teeth. I am kinda jealous. But if you get them be responsible and take good care of your teeth.
It's so worth it! Before I got braces, my smile was ugly, I was a D student, fat, boring, lazy. Now, with the help of my orthodontist, I have a beautiful smile that everyone's jealous of, my grades are up, I got a six pack, everyone laughs at my jokes, and I joined a few clubs at school!
my friend had a gap between her teeth, and she got braces a few months ago and she can already tell a difference and shes really happy about it. i think its worth it in the long run even though i myself have never needed them
I think it's your choice but I probably get the braces no matter what say about, but you should to a dentist they probably have a better solution like replace the gap with a tooth or something.
They are absolutely worth it. I had them for 5 1/2 years and still get comments on my smile and how straight my teeth are.
