after u get them on, suck on ice, and eat soft food, for color, just get your favorite color except white or clear because it turns yellow. Oh and take tylonel.
pink
green and black, and it does hurt the first day
Gosh i have to get braces 2. i dont know when, but soon. i hope and pray it doesnt hurt
you'll get them on, and like 2 hours later they will hurt really bad, like your teeth will feel like they're being pulled. You wont be able to eat hard food for awhile. So make sure you have some asprin.
get light pink for ur first color..im getting mine soon..
dont get a bright weird color for ur first tho b.c. then you'll be like omg i look so bad with braces!
lol start with light pink or silver
I would be very afraid if i was u. my dog had braces and he couldnt eat 4 2 weeks and then when he started eating all of his food got stuck in them and none of his friends liked him anymore
omg dats kool ur gettin dem tomorrow..well i would suggest u taking some pain killers as soon as u get out of the dentist because they do hurt pretty bad the first 3-4 days..and u cant even eat.only things like milkshakes and soft things like dat...i think u should get dem green n hot pink...they look kool.i have em too!! yay.i barely got em like five months ago...goodluck
It hurt a LOT for me. I strongly recommend trying to relax when they're doing it - I couldn't relax, so it hurt more than it should.
Eat soft foods - yogurt, milkshakes, nothing you have to chew, for at least a week.
You should get whichever colors you like! Maybe something like blue and yellow, for summer? Or blue and green.
its not that bad but the first few days hurts when you chew. dont be worried because they say you cant have gum, chips, popcorn, etc, but i always eat that stuff and its never been a problem (ive had braces for 2 years and counting). just dont bite into apples and stuff cuz it could make your bracket come off.
it hurts. bad. before you go in take a bunch of advil and make sure you have soup at home to eat. cuz thats about the only thing you can eat. but it stops hurting after like three days
You'll be sore for a week or so, and you should probably eat soft stuff like Jell-O until your teeth stop hurting. Getting them on doesn't hurt immediately, but getting them removed does. I would go with just clear braces, if I was you. They usually look better and don't get stained.
When I got braces it hurt the first week or so. I had to eat soups and such for the week. If you like girlie colors pink and purple are good. If you want it to be discreet, clear is the color you should go for. If you are bold, blue, green or anything else.
It won't hurt getting them on at all. It just takes a while. It'll hurt a bit after having them on for a little. Just take some pain killers. And for the colors?? Errmm, well they have so many, i think i got like a tealish when i first got mine.
Yes your mouth will be sore so plan on having ibuprofen on hand or naproxen. Ask the orthodontist how many you can take at a time for pain. Also be sure you have things like pudding, soup and instant mashed potatoes etc in the house to eat as you will want soft foods for a couple of days. Colors are not a problem as you can change them every time you get an adjustment which will be every couple of weeks.
It does hurt for a few days, so, don't try to bite on anything hard! Oh and before you go to the orthodontist, take a tylenol, it doesn't hurt as bad!
-take some advil..it'll hurt a few hours after you get them on.
-bring some chapstick..from your mouth being open that long.your lips will be chapped.
-be carefull what you eat the first few days..they'll tell you more info after you get them on.
--i had to watch this boring movie about how to care for my braces..but i already knew basically everything on there. :]
light blue. go on a liquid diet for 3 days. chewing hurts. make sure you wires are trimmed in the back cuz if their not it scrapes your cheek and hurts like crazy. if your gonna eat candy like snickers and star bursts do it slowley. breaks your brackets like wildfire (bad experiences).
They will not be super sore the first day, but the second day they will hurt pretty badly. I would suggest eating soft foods for the first few weeks or so because your mouth will be pretty sore. I would suggest taking ibuprofen, and icing your jaw if it's sore. Also use the wax for the spots that are bothering you until your mouth gets used to all of the metal in it. Good luck...here are some helpful sites that might help comfort you a little http://www.braces.org/ http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/health_pro... http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/your_body... The glue tastes pretty bad, but you'll get through it. I would suggest getting your favorite colors!
hmmm, as far as colors go.dont get the glow in the dark, they dont work, and dont go white, clear, yellow, light blue, or light pink...those colors fade and end up looking yellowish, and kinda like the color of the food u just ate...when i first got mine on, i went sparkly dark blue, if u really want to do white, then put it with a dark color, thts wht i did, sparkly dark blue with white, but pink is always cool too!
ummm, about pain...for maybe the first week after u get ur braces it will be pretty painful, so take some advil or motrin etc...also, try to stay away from hard things lyk crunchy chips, apples, celery, carrots, gum, or other hard things..itll really hurt to eat these, i basically lived off of ice cream and pudding the first week i had mine..the second week gets better, u can eat just a little bit of the crunchy stuff...then probably by the thrid week ull be able to eat crunchy stuff as long as its cut up, lyk apple slices instead of bitting off the apple
after tht ull be fine, except when u go to get ur braces tightened there migh be a little discomfort for maybe 1 to 3 days
also, if u hve rubber bands, tht will be pretty painfull for awhile too, but itll ease up
plus, if u get a power chain, thtll be sorta painful the first week, then the secind week u might feel a little discomfort when u bite down hard on something
the way i got through the pain was advil, sucking on ice, and imagining how beautiful and straight my teeth would be after
please, also make sure u brush alot, i have really nice straigh white teeth, however, some of my friends who just got their braces off nd didnt brush their teeth enough, have really straight teeth, but there are ugly white decay spots and there all yellow and not very appealing
who wants straight but ugly yellow teeth?? not me
my advice, brushing takes 2 min, its not gunnna take all day, so do it, ull lyk the results in the end
good luck!!
Well, the first day will be ok. The second, your gums will be sore as your teeth will have begun to move.
Eating apples, pears, carrots ect. will change. You may have to slice them into pieces so you don't pop off your brackets.
Sticky candy like taffy, big no no. Bubble gum can be a problem sometimes, depending on how good the cement adheres to your bracket, and tooth.
Brush your teeth a lot! I mean it, brush them. Trust me on this one, you dont want white squares in the middle of your teeth when you get them off. It takes some time to even out!
As far as colors, that would be up to you kid!
I've had braces twice now. They took them off too soon, so I had to get them again. Pick your fav colors and get those. There's a huge selection to choose from. And yes it does get a bit painful. Take a tylenol or advil before going in to help with the pain. I wouldn't say it hurts really badly though. It's an awkward feeling. Gum, caramels, etc can get stuck. Good luck!
no they numb yor mouth. get pink and black.
well, make sure you are calm before you go under the hands of the dentist. but, no other special things. it only hurts for like 3 or 4 weeks. you get what dentist call "spacers" and they are like small rubber bands that are put in between your big teeth at the back of your mouth. thats what makes them hurt for the few 3 or 4 weeks. and your teeth get soft and sensitive so you can't eat anything hard. (thats what they say), but to tell you the truth, you can't eat anything at all during those times. recommendable color is silver, it blends in with the brackets and wire, but, if you want to go all out, I'd prefer light colors, don't get any dark colors or else it would look as if you have dirt in your teeth.
Im gettin them on tommorow too i want themm...but im scared..?? im not sure either im looking for questions like these!
yea me to.. i have to get them on so if you here if it hurts or something please tell me!
im getting pink and navy blue
sorry to say this but they will kill u for the first couple days then it'll b okay.
pink or blue
pink with blacke!! the hot pink rox! thats wut i have. it doesnt hurt that bad, but when u get the bands sized it kind of does. you will eat much slower. also, it may hurt for a few days. i think bracs actually make you look older! and also, the cement used tastes pretty bad!!
