i would use Orajel it is fast and effective. You can use it at your nearest drug store. Not only do you use it before flossing but if you have a cankersore or tooth that is coming in you just put it on and get on with your day without it wearing off

Orajel, I've used it before for a toothache. Also, any reason for the pain you are experiencing during flossing? Maybe you should see a dentist. You might have periodontal disease.
