Does the gap for braces need to be as big as the spacers?

Question:
i have spacers in my teeth and the rubberbands there are thick.does it need to be as thick as the rubberband or is it just to be sure just in case they need a little more room?

Answers:
the spacers make a space. but better safe than sorry, so they make a little extra space i think
well I just got spacers in my mouth to and i ask my dentist the same thing and she said that it do because thats where they will be putting the things they need to tighten the braces but on of mine broke so I have to go in tomorrow and grt in put back in but.Good Luck on your braces hope nothing go wrong before then remember what happend to me.Lol
the rubberbands on the appliance are what hold the wires inplace. the main part (it kinda looks like a metal band going around the tooth/teeth) is what the wires connect to. the rubberbands between these and the molars and or pre molars do cause a little space but mainly so the metal doesnt damage the tooth/teeth beside it.when you go to have the wires tightened thats what causes the teeth to streighten out.
