Needleless Anesthesia?

Question:
What is it and how does it work? it it more effective, does it cost more then general anesthesia? What about recovery afterwards?

Answers:
it's nitros gas, much much cheaper, about $95 per hour, vs $300 with anesthesia. they give you oxygen right after, no recovery time, you can even drive home.

If you're talking about conscious sedation with oral medication (note the word CONSCIOUS - that means AWAKE), that'll take the edge off but shouldn't knock you out.

If you are going to be asleep, you need to have IV access. Just in case something goes horribly wrong. (Most of the time everything goes great. But if it DID go bad, it is negligent to not have an IV in place.)

I'm an anesthesiologist, and (with VERY rare exception) always have an IV in my patients. (Children getting ear tubes placed is the exception.)

You can gamble with your life, but I wouldn't, and I do this for a living.
