What is wrong with my teeth?

Question:
I was just hit in the face with a baseball. My brother threw pretty hard. I didnt bleed at all but my top two teeth are in alot of pain. What is this?

Answers:
Your gums may not bleed, but the impact most likely irritated the nerves (roots) they may throb and ache, if the pain persists more than another day or two, you may want to get a check up to make sure no hidden damage was done.
Teeth are pretty tough, it is the nerves and roots and even gums that impact the bone (tooth) itself-
Sensitivity to hot or cold on them may be normal after trauma but if you are in dire pain and cant stand it then you need to go see a dentist. They dont need to bleed to have damage done to them. Best case scenario, they chipped a little and may need some bonding work(which is no big deal) worst case scenario, if they were traumatized too much you most likely would need root canals. If you can stand the pain, or it starts going away and you just want to keep an eye on them before seeing a dentist, watch out for a "bubble" on your gum over those teeth(which would likely indicate an abcess) or if they start to turn dark. Neither of those are good signs.
Your teeth are probably in a lot of pain after the hit from the baseball, but if it is still hurting after a couple of days, you should see a dentist because there might be a serious problem.
You need to go see a dentist. When a tooth is hit like that it can cause the nerve of the tooth to die which means that you will need to have a root canal on both of your teeth if you want to keep them. Don't put off seeing a dentist because you will continue to be in pain.
