Question:
Okay my dentist gave me a twin block appliance and is being used as an expander and says it will make my jaws line up in relationship. Does this device also correct overbites too? The thing is most of my teeth are straight, but I have one right lateral incisor that is far back and looks smaller than what it is, and a small little gap, because the tooth next to the incisor is crooked and is a part of the gap. Tell me please how effective is the twin block, because he said braces were only going to be used to bring the teeth down together after the expander.
Answers:
The reason this is a hard question is that this is absolutely a far better way to do some things, but it is not as good at doing others. It sounds like the dentist has a complete treatment plan for a somewhat complicated case. Treating the main problem must be done or you can't fix the other things. You may be able to do everything with this, or you may not. I hope this is understandable.
