if you're going to be sedated then you won't feel a thing until afterwards.
there is some discomfort after having your wisdom teeth out, but personally i didn't find it very painful at all. just this dull acheing where my teeth used to be and some pain in my jaw where the doctor pryed the teeth lose.
your mouth will bleed for a while when the teeth are removed so they'lll shove a bunch of gauze in there and you'll need to change it fairly often, and don't be alarmed at the blood. it is ok, and it will stop.
probably the worst thing about having your wisdom teeth out is not being able to chew much because of the soarness.and you gotta be careful to keep your mouth extra clean so you don't get food in the holes in your gums where the teeth used to be.
in a nutshell, lots of people said it was gonna be really painful and all that, but it was no problem for me. i went to work the same day, albeit tired and on pain meds, and in a few days i was totally recovered.
no more pain from wisdom teeth=awesome!
good luck!
i got my wisdom teeth out when i was a teen & got nothing but gas & novacaine. it wasnt so bad. i was swollen for about 2 days & ate all soft foods, took tylenol & looked like a chipmunk for a few more days. no biggie. good luck!
don't expect to be coherent after the procedure . . I had all 4 done at the same time years ago and I really don't remember much afterward cause of the meds I was taking for pain and the left over wierdo feeling from the anesthesia . .
I had mine taken out a couple of years ago. The doctor will tell you what not to do, such as no drinking out of a straw. I didn't use the I.V. anesthesia, just went with the shots. They will prescribe pain medications and you WILL need them. Be very careful to follow all the instructions they give you, the worst thing in the world you can get is a dry socket, very painful!
Two of my sisters and one of my brothers had their wisdom teeth pulled. My sisters rested and did all the things the dentist said and they were fine. My brother was up and eating all kinds of stuff and he got an infection.
Bottom line , obey your dentist.
if you are getting IV - you will be knocked out - won't feel a thing - when you come to - different story
once the anesthesia wears off, you are going to want some kind of pain medication - do not plan on eating much either
everyone is different though - I know someone who had all 4 out at the same time and was fine 2 days later - no pain
just get it over with - you will be happier after
if they are putting you to sleep, then you will be fine, i had three pulled together too. i woke up fine, they gave me a painkiller and i did fine.
