I'm getting my wisdom teeth out, how much will it hurt?

Question:
I'm getting my wisdom teeth out, how much will it hurt? My doctor said that on a scale from 1-10 of pain, it will be a 5, so how many days will it take to recover? I will be put to sleep during the process.

Answers:
Getting it done doesn't hurt. They will more than likely put you out for it.

It hurts afterwards. Not an awful pain, but you will get a headache.

Your mouth will get swollen and you will drool like crazy.

Your mouth will bleed and there will be a funky feelings in the back of your mouth. Some people recover in a day or two. I had a friend who had a swollen face for over a week.

The best part of it is the medication for after! Its some good stuff!
If you're going to be asleep, you won't feel a thing. I had all 4 of mine out with local anesthesia, the most hurtful thing was the injection in the gums! And feeling the pulling, cutting, etc. No real pain though.
It took me about 5 days for the swelling to go down to look at least more "normal". I looked like buzz light year! Then i just had my cheeks slightly bigger.
It's not so much pain as it is uncomfortable, and while you're swelled up you can't really move your mouth so much, because then it does hurt. You just have to rest and leave all the area alone... even washing my face hurt because of the swelling. It's been almost 2 weeks since my surgery, and i'm still a little bit swollen on one side, and the extraction site is still sensitive, but it does get better every day. Someone told me that it would take about a month to go completely back to normal.
