What is the process like when getting your braces off?

Question:
Does it hurt? How long does it take? How does it feel? Etc.
I'm getting mine off in like a month or two since I finally got this little baby tooth out. YES! :D
I was just wondering what its like when you get them off so I know what to expect. Thanks everyone :D

All I remember is they unhooked the wires connecting all my teen and the pretty much just yanked of the metal it didn't really hurt you just feel a lot of pressure on your teeth. Then they scrape the glue off your teeth it's kind of nerve racking because you think that the orthodontist is scraping the enamel from your teeth. Your teeth feel really slippery afterwards too. Its pretty individual though. Some people say it hurts a lot, others not at all.

congrats on getting them off soon!
I was expecting it to hurt. I just braced myself and was waiting for the pain. Then my dentist finished and I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of pain.
It feels weird feeling your mouth when the braces are finally of though.
its a breeze they just knock em off like theres nothing there and then like this flat drill thing, isnt as bad as it sounds, and take the glue of and then ull be licking ur teeth for a while lol it takes some time to get used to...bring some chapstick cuz ur lips get a little dry and cracked afterwards
haha i had big teeth stuck too! getting the braces off hurt a tiny bit. expect the worst and it will be painless! they use like this clamper type thing to take off the metal box on each tooth. but its pretty easy. it looks painful but its a breeze. i wouldnt worry too much, the only thing that sucks is that molding **** they need to use to get the size for your retainer - bleh! but otherwise youll be fine!

congrats!!! running your tongue on your teeth will feel so weird and like vaseline but man all teh sugar youve missed out on - youll have fun!
Okay let me think... I don't remember how they got the very back bands off, but it didn't hurt at all. The brackets just kind of pop off really fast, then they use these little tools to get the stuff off your teeth. It's like they're sanding or filing, but you can't feel it. The only part that bothered me the entire time was that they had the air conditioner quite close to me, and the cold air hit right on my teeth when the took the stuff off. Other than that, it was painless. Good luck and God Bless!
