Two weeks ago I had my wisdom teeth removed. They were all impacted and deep in the bone causing the doctor to having to get them removed in the hospital as a surgery. Last week I had a follow-up and he said everything was fine and that the rest of the pain and swelling would go away in three days. It's been a week but I still have pain in my joints and where they removed the teeth. I can barely open my mouth wider than a inch and if I try any hard it hurts up into my ears. There is still swelling in the gums, and I also have a unpleasant taste in my mouth. The taste started about two day ago, two days after I finished my antibiotics. I figure it's an infection and I plan on going to the doctors, but I just want a second opinion.

It is probably blood, your gums bleed for a fair while after you have had your wisdom teeth out. Does it taste like metal?
You are correct that it could be a sign of infection and it is a good call you are going to the doctor. Healthy tissue does not have odor or taste bad.
CEPICAL.rinse mouth out with it it will fight infection and it will get rid of any unwanted odor i guarantee it!.its mouth wash i hope i spelt it right good luck
Poor gurl.. I dread getting mine removed.. yeah you may need more antibiotic than thy 1st thought... Cause it sounds like it's taking lil longer to fully heal than they thought. But go back so thy cn sheck you out ... Good Luck! You should be ok...

A foul taste in mouth can be due to various reasons-
* sinusitis/allergy
* infected tooth
* antibiotics
In your case, since you are having a lot of swelling and pain along with the bad taste in mouth, the cause seems to be infection.Consult your dentist as soon as possible. Also take anti-inflammatories like tylenol and apply cold compresses.
