Are teeth spacers suppose to hurt? What can you eat?

Question:
I just got my spacers today and they dont hurt what so ever .. Thank God,,, but i keep reading how people are like looking for pills to kill the pain.. the only thing that hurts was were the dentist missed and freaking cut the bottom of my tounge with those little tool thingys. and also.. what can I eat? all the doctor said was.. DONT EAT NOTHING HARD! she didnt tell me when i could start eating whatever.

Answers:
The teeth spacers are slightly pushing your teeth into proper alignment or making space to fit the braces on. When I had mine put on they didn't hurt, it just felt like I had something stuck in between my teeth. I did, it was the spacer.

The warning to not eat nothing hard is a pretty generic one. The warning I have to give you is to not use a toothpick to pull the spacer out. The Orthodontist didn't tell me he put a spacer in between my teeth and I pulled it out because it was bugging me. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy with me.
spacers usually only hurt pussys. n ppl lookin for the pills are prob addicts n just using they teeth as an excuse. you can eat nething whenever you want avoid biting into hard things for at least a week. biting hard food could crack the spacers
Spacers hurt some people for the first couple of days. Don't chew gum or eat any sticky candy like a laffy taffy, now and later, airhead. You can start eating whatever after they take out your spacers.. but right afterwards youll probably get braces sooo you can eat whatever whenever your braces come off!
They didnt hurt me at all. i just ate as normal and i was fine.
