call your dentist, and use the emergency number on the recording and call and have the dentist paged.
I wish you well-being and quick recovery!
I just went thru this with a deep root cleanning and root canal.
My face is brused and swollen and my gums were very irratated. I was told to rinse with warm salt water as often as i liked. I was also given anitbitoics. I had to call the dentist and have the dentist paged....they want to know cuz it's very important, your dental health, affects the entire body.
Please page your dentist. They will take you in tomorrow and have a look see, perhaps persribe or give you an oral RX rinse, and some pain medication.
In the meantime,, take some advil, or motrin, to reduce inflamation, put ice or heat on your cheek, and rinse often with warm salt water to promote healing.
It's normal to get a little temporary inflammation if it's a deep filling but that doesn't sound right. Contact your dentist.
I don't know if it good to do or not for you, but sometime when I was in your situation, I goggled with mouthwash. It worked for me, but I don't know if it will work for you or not. You do have to go back to the dentist tomorrow.
I would call your dentist immediately. You should not be having any swelling after a filling. It may mean that the nerve was too close to the cavity and even though they took out the decay and filled it, the trauma to the nerve caused it to become infected. It could also just mean that there is something under your gums called flash, thin often very hard to see pieces of filling that can get caught and not cleaned out. If cold drinks feel good and hot drinks feel bad, i am going to guess that it is a problem with your nerve and you need to have it taken care of. When in doubt, call the doc! It is better to catch problems before they get worse. For temporary relief, try a cool compress on the outside of your cheek and some ibuprofen.
