Why do people's breath smell so bad in the morning?

Question:
I wash my teeth at night so does my wife right before bed , but in the morning oh man, breath be kickin..why

Answers:
Normal reaction. Bacteria builds up even though you have brushed the night before. Also, a lot of people have nasal problems and it drains down the back of the throat and will create an odor. I don't know of anyone whose breath smells good in the morning.
HEY ME TOO!!!It's just because you'e mouth is closed for such a long period...I think...
Bacteria settles into your mouth, teeth and tongue... and just curdles (eewww..., I know).
Try this mouthwash called "SmarthMouth" it should be in CVS and other major stores... I got rid of my morning breath, but I was not too crazy about mixing my mouthwash to use it at first!
LOL!! I think this is a universal problem. I agree that keeping your mouth closed for hours has something to do with it. Try mouthwash like listerine, day and night.. for 30secs at least. That should reduce bacteria build-up overnight.

Also, improving your diet will improve your breath. Eat the healthy stuff and it should get better.

P.s. Try keeping some mints on your nightstand in case of an emergency!! =)
People have it. I guess because some don't have proper dental hygiene, or some food get stuck in between the teeth. Dry mouth can also be a cause of bad breath, and of course the spread of bad bacteria. Being sure of the cause can help you find the right cure.
