Answers:
Getting your tooth removed should not be painful at all. You will be completely numb. You probably have the choice of IV sedation. I recommend it personally, but everyone has different preferences. As for laughing gas, it just makes you more relaxed but it does not numb you. The shot should not hurt more than a little pinch. Trust me, while it is not the most fun, it is very very worth it. As for after it is out, everyone is different. If it is infected, you might have a harder time healing. Be sure to follow all of your post-op directions. Do not swish or smoke. If you get dry socket, then it will hurt for sure. They usually give you pain killers to take away any soreness that you might feel. I found the worst part to be my sore jaw from being open so far for so long. Relax, rent some movies ahead of time and get some Popsicles. Its not too traumatic, no worries!
nowdays they give you an IV drip full of drugs that put you completely out of it. you'll be conscious, but you wont feel anything at all
You can either be put completely under or be awake and have a local anesthetic. Is it impacted or out of the gums? Laughing gas will relax you but not help the pain. The shot to numb you (if you're awake) feels like the Novocaine shot you get when you get fillings. How old are you and are you only getting the one out? You can email me any questions and I will answer what I can. You don't have to give me best answer, I don't care about that, just want to help ya, because... it sucks..
I got all 4 of mine pulled in one appointment! They injected novacain into my gums and it worked really well. The actual injection felt like a slight bee sting, but that was it. I didn't feel anything when they were actually doing the procedure. My dentist prescribed me antibiotics for the pain as well as the swelling of your cheeks. It isn't as bad as people say it is.

I don't know about laughing gas. I guess it'll just be the same result. It'll prevent any sense for pain. But I'm not sure.

If you have a job, you better request at least a week off because your face will swell and it'll hinder you talking properly. But other than that, I was still able to do things during the day and stuff.

Don't worry about it. You'll be fine.
