Braces with tongue piercings? why not??

Question:
I was wondering..why are people saying that if u have braces then u can't have tongue piercings...and my tongue web is pretty near the edge of my tongue...so I was wondering does anyone here have a tongue piercing that went through the tongue web? And why is it that u can't have tongue piercings if u have braces??

Answers:
in most places, you cant get a tongue piercing even with a parents consent, until you're 16. Maybe where you're at is different..I doubt it though. I had braces for 6 years. I also had 2 tongue rings the entire time. It wasnt a problem at all. It'd take a special kind of skill to get a round smooth ball tangled up in your braces. Plus the tongue ring is in your tongue, so behind your teeth, your braces are on the outside of your teeth..they shouldnt ever even touch unless you're licking your teeth...for some odd reason.
Because tongue piercings are ugly.
seems like they'd get tangled easily. plus you get more of an attration from lightning..lol just kidding
Because tongue rings can get ripped and torn if it gets stuck in one of the brackets, ouch, I wouldn't risk it, but it's up to you.
I had both, and no problems!
