Question:
I know a custom-made mouthgaurd / nightgaurd would be the best option and most effective option but I just found out they cost anywhere from $200 and up and I definitely can't afford that right now. Will probably be able to affored the custom-made one sometime in October or November of this year so in the meantime, I'm thinking of trying one of the over the counter ones that are available but don't know which brand / kind would be the best to get. Can anyone please give me some recommendations on this?
Answers:
My dentist recommended I use I use a cheap (about $3.) generic mouthguard that I got at a sporting goods store, and I am very happy with it- it actually feels good to me. I have cracked 2 teeth from grinding, one in the back had to be pulled, and another up front had to be crowned (many $). I asked my dentist about the custom made ones, and she said that there was absolutely no reason to get one if I was happy with the cheapie.
