Question:
What is it really? I get mixed reviews on the internet. I know that alcohol works as an antiseptic but some say that alcohol in mouthwashes make bad breath even worse because it dries up the mouth making it conducive for bacteria to multiply. Listerine has been around for ages and its going strong despite having alcohol, so why do people say its bad? Is it really?
Answers:
Perhaps if the alcohol is too strong for the mouth, then is can help dry it out, and it can make the producing of saliva slower than usual. The though comes from the belief that alcohol cause cause dehydration. Listerine has little alcohol content that's why it is effective.
HAVENT U SEEN MYTH BUSTERS?? YA ALCHOL WORK BETTER
That sounds bogus to me. Alcohol evaporates very quickly, and any remaining alcohol will dissolve in your saliva, so there is no way for it to dry up in your mouth.
