i just recently got braces and i went for they first time to the orthodontist on april 18 2007 and then on the 27th of may i got my molds a pictures done and then on august 14 2007 i got my braces on...it really depends on your schedule and your orthodontist. so orthos like mine only have one person that puts on the braces so their schedule may be busy but if there are more than one there will be a shorter wait. mine took four months but i had to finishthe school year and i went on vacation and to camp.. i have also noticed that my orthodontist has more time to see people with braces so it may take awhile (like my case) to get started in the treatment. i hope i helped and gave a good answer.
It all depends. Some may require for baby teeth to come out like mine did, others may require other dental care before getting braces. They procrastinate and add onto the price just to gain more $$.

the more serisou the case is, the shorter time it will be till you get braces
it doesn't sound like you have a serious case so i will be a lil bit before you nget them on
about 5 -8 weeks and you have it on for about 2-4 years if you need more info ask me.
It depends on your orthodontist. Some will recommend braces and then immediately want to start the process (as was the case with me). Often there is a lot of work-up before the braces. I had a pallet widener and had two teeth pulled before the braces were put on. Once it's determined that you'll need braces, the orthodontist will probably set up an appointment to get a mold of your teeth made. My guess, depending on your teeth, is that it will be about 6 months before you will get the braces put on. Expect several appointments in the time though.
