i know this sounds scary but use a nail clipper to trim down the wire. I had to do this a few times. It sounds silly to me that they cannot see you on a rush... when I had braces and things like this happened they told me to just pop in and they would fix the bracket or just cut the wire down. I would call them and tell themt he wax isnt working and that you need them to trim the wire until your next appointment so they can reattach the bracket.
brake, clip, cut it (whatever you wanna call it) off with small pliers.. trust me it works.. the good thing is that it stayed there.. my cousins ripped off and whipped him all across his mouf and cut a lot!!
and for me i had my top wire come completely off and whipped me in both walls of my mouf...

p.s. guy or girl above me has a point... just show up there im sure they can trim it off for now.. and if not do it yourself like i said.. youll be left with short wires for a lil while but its better then waking up with cuts in your mouth...

well if the wax isnt sticking, dry your tooth really well cuz wax doesnt stay on if its wet. then call your ortho and get an appointment a.s.a.p.
