How comes dentists dont do root canal on the nhs, on the molar teeth?

Question:
how much is it on bottom right number 6, a root canal treatment

Answers:
I would like to know where Sherribabe works! I had a root canal done last week on a molar and was charged £175 plus £43.60 (NHS) for the filling and two minor fillings at my dentists. I thought the filling was all-in on the price, but apparently not. I am know facing another £194 for a crown on the same tooth.
I have had this treatment done at an NHS only dentist. There is a three scale list of charges which is displayed at any NHS dentist surgery.
Ms. root canal is soo dengerous
u have to be careful on that...
take some hurble things
and hope all will fine
well i don't know the exact answer but if you think about it. it probably because this is a very expensive treatment for dentists to do but we all know by now our great government doesn't like to put too much money into the NHS and expect them raise their on funds. so therefore dentists will charge for any little thing they think will cost too much for their budget.
Hi you can get a root canal on a molar tooth on a molar tooth, the reason your dentist wont want to do this is probably because he cant be bothered! tell him you want one asap. It will cost roughly £100.
try it for free on the NHS.you might be excepted.
NHS dental charges:
what you should pay

Band 1 course of treatment – £15.90
This covers an examination, diagnosis (e.g. x-rays), advice on
how to prevent future problems, and a scale and polish
if needed.
Urgent treatment, when you need to see a dentist immediately,
also costs £15.90.

Band 2 course of treatment – £43.60
This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further
treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist
needs to take out one or more of your teeth.

Band 3 course of treatment – £194.00
This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns,
dentures or bridges.

These are the only dental charges your dentist should ask you to pay when you
are having NHS treatment.
l You should only have to pay one charge for each course of treatment – even if you need to visit your
dentist more than once to finish it.
l If you need more treatment within the same charge band, for example an additional filling, within two
months of completing a course of treatment, you will not have to pay anything extra.
l There is no charge for repairing dentures or for having stitches removed.
l To find out about free NHS dental treatment, see form HC11, Help with health costs, available at your local
Jobcentre Plus or from the Department of Health website at www.dh.gov.uk
Your NHS dentist should provide all the care and treatment needed to maintain your dental health. To find out
more about what you can expect, you can:
l Ask your dentist for a copy of NHS dentistry in England: information for patients.
l Ask to see your dentist’s practice leaflet.
l Contact your Primary Care Trust (PCT), or see their website.
l Call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or visit www.nhs.uk
l Go to the dentistry pages on the Department of Health website: www.dh.gov.uk/dental
They should be able to do it on NHS, there's no reason they can't other than the fact that the NHS will only fund for the very basic of materials/equipment which doesn't always mean the best results but nonetheles, your dentist should still give you the option of whether you want it done NHS or privately. If you have it done on the NHS along with other fillings/clean/exam, etc. it should cost just over £40 for the lot - that's the way the NHS dental costing works now. Good luck x
