Laughing and braces?

ive had braces sincei was 12 so its almost 2 years since i got them on. But recently when i laugh i put my hand over my mouth cos i always think people are judgeing me and going urg look what shes got in her mouth. And its hard cos its like everytime i laugh and its making me feel like i cant get a boyfriend cos im to ugly. Does any 1 who has braces ever do this?

I do the exact same thing. It is natural reflex to do so. When you have braces, you think that they stick out and that people notice it, so when you laugh you cover it up. Some guys think it is cute to cover you mouth up when you laugh, other ask, "why do you do that?". But, believe it or not, you are not ugly just becaus eof hte braces, and it is just a reflex.

I have braces and i am 21 and i just think about laughing at my friends if they laugh at me . I laugh at them because i know i will have straight teeth and they will be jealous

so u have braces on, but you are still u. i had braces to, and i did felt bad having it, and started avoiding laughing or smiling with my teeth showed, that made the situation worst, because you won't feel free to be yourself anymore! then after sometime i got tired and smile or laugh as i felt, guess what, someone wanted to date me ;) it's not a shame to have braces on.

I wouldn't do that, and didn't. All I did when I knew I was gonna get them was blabber and whine about it to a whole bunch of people and then when I actually had them, I told my friends I got them and let everyone else who didn't know find out themselves. Sometimes when I laugh, my lips get caught on the hooks of my braces although thats no problem. People -may- be judging you but that's still no reason to be peer pressured into what they think. Think about the positives, that you will have perfect teeth later on. If you had a nasty bite, braces are definatly worth it. My problem wasnt severe at all, just the inverted buck teeth and the incisors on the bottom were a smidge crooked. People assumed I had perfect teeth because they wouldn't know unless they actually looked into it.

There's nothing wrong with having braces. I actually look better with braces on and I'm quite sure why. Some people like me with braces on, ha. But celeberities such as Tom Cruise had braces and he was still lovable. No one is gonna reject you for having braces and if they do, they are probably jerks who are all for vanity, I wonder why they got with you inteh first place if you had braces. If the tradional metal braces are too noticeable, you could have considered porecliean, which fits the color of your teeth to begin with, but you probably wont be able to afford it or switch braces now. The best thing to do is to keep up your confidence and covering your mouth when you laugh is just awkard. By doing that they are gonna know you are hiding something and just by that they might be even more curious to find out. With logic, it comes to me you'd have braces or crooked teeth I guess. Same thing for smiling. Smiles make youself happy and other epople happy. Cheer up!
