Is it bad?

Question:
if you lose the back bracket on ur braces but just use wax to keep the wire against ur tooth for that month, is it bad? does there really need to be a bracket there at all times? (yes i have lost two of these before, but the problem is, one fell off and then it broke off 10 min after i got home from having a new one put on so i don't want to go back plus i am going on vaca very soon)

Answers:
Yes, it is bad. Braces are designed to work a certain way, and when one piece is tot working or is missing, your teeth may be compromised. I would go to the dentist, tell them about the problem (the fact that it keeps falling off), and see if they can fix it correctly.
Yeah thats bad. You will lose any tooth movement that has happened recently. Get it fixed.
get the bracket put back on now before you need an emergency appt.while on vac. i know it's a pain but you have a lot of money invested in your mouth. make sure you protect that investment.
yea u need it go get it fixed
Yes, it is very bad. If you do not get it fixed, you will lose any recent progress that your braces have had. Braces must have pressure applied at all times for them to work properly and effectively. Waiting to get this fixed, could result in you having to wear you braces for months longer than you would have had to if you got it fixed right away. So just go tell your ortho what happened and get it fixed. You'll be glad you did. Good Luck!
I wouldn't consider it truly "bad" since it doesn't hurt you. You should, however, get it fixed before you leave on vacation. Since it is on the back teeth, that is more for anchorage for the other teeth than for major tooth movement on that particular tooth. I would see if the doctor can place a band on that tooth. They are much more effective at staying on since you seem to have a hard time keeping that particular bracket on. The problem with braces on the back teeth is that they do come off easily due to many different reasons.
I would get it fixed, because the way you have it really isn't helping your teeth move at all. The more you break them the longer you will have the braces on. Maybe they could put on stronger glue or cement for you, since you break them easily. :)
