I'm getting some permanent teeth taken out along w/wisdom teeth. is it going to change my face shape at all?

Question:
the reason im getting the other teeth taken out is i'm getting braces next year and since i have a really small mouth, i need to have some spaces btwn my teeth..

Answers:
No
Nope, there's nothing to worry about. It won't change your face's shape or jaws. I had several permanent teeth together with two of my wisdom teeth (which were badly impacted) taken out due to the same reasons. My face was bloated for the first few days after the extraction, but after that everything went back to normal. After they take them out you'll be one step closer to the perfect smile! :) Good luck!
Having teeth removed for orthodontic spaces can change your face dramatically, but it depends on the existing shape and proportions of your face. Go to http://www.oceansurgical.com.au/orthogna... to find out more. Has your orthodontist suggested jaw correction surgery instead?
