Do dentist use needles to clean your teeth?

Question:

Answers:
Not necessarily to clean them but say if you haven't been to the dentist in many years they might recommend what is called a Scaling and Root Plaining (Deep cleaning). Most of the time it's more comfortable for the patient to be numb (which is a time for needles) or in order to apply something such as chlorhexidine with a syringe (which does not actually have a needle tip but is small and looks like one) into the gum pockets to medicate. This is where you would see anything needle-like during a cleaning procedure.

Also, yes the dentist also will do prophys (cleanings), it is not limited to only a hygienist.

Thank you
no, I've never heard of such a thing.
NO. First of all dental hygienists are usually the ones to clean teeth. They use metal instruments that scale (scrape) hard deposits off your teeth.
They're not needles.
They're dental picks with different diameter tips to get into tight spaces.
No, they use all kinds of tools though. If you are concerned about pain ask for them to numb your gums with a light pain number.
Not at all. The dental hygenist just uses a brush that spins, and applies paste that feels like sand. It doesn't hurt at all.
first they use the water thing ... and then they have this brush which looks like a toothpaste and they wash ur gums and ur teeth really good ... and they just wsh it out with da water thing and that's it
it takes about ten minutes or less
