Answers:
i had my wisdom teeth out when I was 16. it isnt that bad. be sure to dress comfortably though, and the dr should have told u not to use deoderant or wear metal. (it means no jewelry, bra, jeans w/ buttons and zipper etc). when u get there they will hook u up to a heart moniter. (just like that finger thing they give u when ur sick and go to the er) they put mine around my ankle its just a precaution. ull be asleep during the whole thing. completely painless. when u wake up ull feel groggy and a lil out of it. i find it to be an uncomfortable feeling. not painful or anything like that. just uncomfortable. ull have to stay at the dentists for a lil bit to b sure ull b ok then theyll let u go home. be sure to take some room temp water. ull b very thirsty. i dont remember for sure why, but i wasnt allowed to drink for so long after mine. but i could put the water in my mouth and swish it to moisten my mouth. but it shouldnt b cold. also b sure to have mouth wash u cant brush ur teeth for a ocuple days so u use mouth wash instead. the pain level is very low. the dr gave me pain killers i didnt use thema nd i even have an extremely low pain tolerance. just relax ull b fine its a common procedure. good luck. (its best to not make any plans for that day and even possibly the next go home and sleep on the anethesia ull feel alot better then)
When you get there you will be put to sleep, it won't hurt. You probably will not remember waking up. You will fully wake up in a few hours at home. You will probably not feel any pain until about 8 hours later. Since you are young you will probably not experience too much pain and will recover quickly.
I have never gotten my wisdom teeth pulled. But. I got a sist[[sp?]] removed a couple years a go.

Basically they stick a needle that pushes medicine through your veins and you fall asleep. By the time you wake up it'll be finished and you just take pain killers and eat soft foods =)
Well, I didn't get "put to sleep" when I went for mine...so I don't know if they will give you the multiple needles in your gums or not. If they do, that's probably the not so fun part. What was bad was seeing the oral surgeon prying and prying to get my teeth out.

I felt exactly the same after my surgery. I reallly didn't have any pain at all. Be careful what painkillers you take, and only take them if you absolutely have to. I took mine even though I really didn't have to, and I had an allergic reaction and got sick from them. I think just taking Motrin would have sufficed for me. But instead of 2, the doc told me to take 4. Just talk it over with the doctor first.

Also...expect a lot of bleeding and changing of the gauze for hours after the surgery. Also expect it to not be too easy to eat or drink things for at least a week.
Expect atleast a week of pain, swollen cheeks and not being able to eat normal food.
Your either going to be either put to sleep or receive an injection into your gums to completely numb your mouth. Honestly, don't sweat it. I got mine pulled out spring break and the surgery was a breeze. The only thing that sucks is the pain after the surgery. Make sure you take your pain killers!! good luck!
Just be sure, whatever you do on this earth, ask your
Dentist how to prevent "dry socket".
You will wish you were dead if dry socket happens.
I don't want to scare you. Mine were impacted, infected, growing in crooked and pushing my other teeth out of line (I was 19 when I got mine done). When I got to the dentist's office, they checked to make sure I had the right pills they prescribed for me (this was the 1980s) (Valium, Seconal, and Demerol). I took them, and 15 minutes later was out. During the surgery, I would "come to" for a moment and then go back under. I could not feel a thing I'm not sure if your dentist will use any pills or gas. I'm sure your dentist explained to you what will happen.

Anyways, I was knocked out for 3 days. I had blood in my sockets and it had to be rinsed out with warm water and salt. I couldn't move my jaws at all because of the pressure he put on my jaws when getting the teeth out. I was swollen from this for about 3 weeks (you know, just before school started). It hurt, but mostly ached. I couldn't eat a hamburger, or chew too much. I lived mostly on soft foods until my jaws could get moving.

However, I know someone else who had some wisdom teeth taken out, and she had no problem. No swelling, jaw was a little sore but okay, no blood. It will depend basically on the condition of your teeth and what the dentist gives you. Yes, you might hurt a little and your jaws feel rough but it will pass.
i get mine surgically removed in 3 wks. all 4 of them. now my sis rachel whos yo age she had 3 cut out only. she had this done november 2006.
