Anyone know the cost of having your teeth professionally whitened?

I understand there are several different methods of having them done professionally. The average price in the UK is £300 and should last 18 months.
I have ordered some Crest White Strips and waiting for them to arrive. They cost £15 for 2 weeks supply. They have brilliant reviews and apparently you can see a difference after the 3rd time you use them. You put a strip on teeth for 30 mins per day and they make a big difference.
If they don't give me the whiteness I really want I will pay £300 because I think a lovely white smile can do wonders!!

Don't waste your money! There are many different brands of "Whitestrips" on the market (Crest is the one I use and people were commenting after the 3rd day.. they really work great) and I know the Rembrandt works as well.
I paid over $360 when I had it done and the results were very disappointing. My girlfriend just went and her teeth are an artificial color (think Ross on "Friends"..they almost glow).
lazer in about $600, and the take home kits are about $100 to $400.

Im not sure ive heard it expensive though..however Colgate have a new product that has the same ingredient as what the dentists use to whiten your teeth.. my mum purchased it last week from our local chemist it cost just £ 3.49 and youuse it just once a week for 6 weeks its only a small tube but definately worth trying its alot cheaper and as i say contains the same ingredient as what they use to proffessionally whiten your teeth.x

from my dentist I got this special kit for under 200 for the top of my mouth, first he made a plastic mold of my teeth and I just squeezed this gel stuff into it, then just slept with it on at night, not only did it work, I still had a tube left over that I didnt need to use, and lazer costs too much. and if you smoke and drink too much coffe, then getting your teeth whitened is a waste of money, because it doesn't last forever and can make your teeth weaker.
