Crooked jaw.. possible orthognathic surgery?

Question:
okay so when i was young i used to suck my thumb. and my doctor told my mom when i was 4 or 5 that i would stop on my own...i didnt quit till i was about 10 and unfortunately that messed up my whole entire jaw alignment. my top jaw is too far to the right and my bottom is too far to the left. its causing me to have bad symetry in my face plus bad tmj pains. im not sure what i can do other than surgery. im 17 now and its only getting worse. ive already had braces and that didnt do much. i just need to know what are my options and if i resort to surgery how much will it cost. what insurance plans cover this surgery, what will happen after and so on. pleasee help i need to know

Hi! I have been in dentistry for over 25 years and I doubt sucking your thumb had anything to do with this. This is a genetic issue not a thumb sucking problem. Your medical will pay for a Lefort I or 2 surgery. It is very common and most hospitals have top notch oral Surgeons that are pros at fixing this. After you have it done you may need to have your teeth re-aligned but that is the least of the problems. Once the jaw is set you will have a great look and be very happy. In fact you will look so good that anything else you need to do is a piece of cake. Speak to your doctor NOW and start a plan to get the surgery scheduled and you will be a very happy camper when it is all done and you look in the mirror. If you have any other questions, please ask, I will help you in any way I can. Marie
Jaw surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
