Jaw popping?
Question:
Answers:
Sounds like TMJ (temporomandibular joint dysfunction). I have it too. My jaw used to pop all the time. Sometimes when I chew, it sounds like I have rocks in my mouth. It's annoying but if I don't move my mouth for a few minutes, the rock sensation usually goes away. I can't chew gum anymore. It makes my jaw hurt, plus it pops after a while. You might want to look on www.webmd.com and look at symptoms, treatments, and concerns.
my jaw..used to pop atleast, i dont know why it hasnt lately, but that's only because my mandible is smaller than it should be and the orthodontist says i need surgery to make it a little larger..and that would get rid of the overbite i have too. have you ever had braces? or anything like that? maybe ... you have an overbite? need braces? anything related to that might be the cause.
No, sounds like you have TMJ. Welcome to the club. It's just annoying and you can't really cure it. Just try not to do things that aggravate it, like chewing too much gum or eating gigantic subway sandwiches, (or popping your jaw on purpose) and if you are bothered by it a lot, see your dentist.
No. I had this happen to me too. Its called TMJ, i think and my orthodontist fixed it with my braces and stuff. if i were you, i would get it checked quickly because if it gets too serious then your jaw will close one day and not open for a long time (its called lock jaw). They usually fix this by breaking your jaw and then re-setting it correctly.
