You are always best to have teeth whitening by your dentist. I had really yellow teeth up until I had the gel treatment from my dentist. My teeth for the last 7 years have been brilliant white. The secret is to have a 17 % gel rather that a higher one at 24% plus. Takes a few weeks, but last for a life time!

I heard that swishing around hydrogen peroxide in your mouth will whiten your teeth without the damaging bleach! There is already hydrogen peroxide in the whiteners you buy at the store.
Also, another cheap at home way to whiten, mix some baking sodas and salt and put it on your toothbrush. Not the best tasting, but healthy and is effective!
I agree. Crest White Strips work, and now you only have to wear them for five minutes.
I used them and they whitened my teeth well. If you're finding your teeth aren't super white, there may be nothing you can do about it. Some people have darker insides on their teeth, which give the appearance of being yellower, etc.
Unless you're willing to invest in professional whitening or veneers, there isn't much else.
The only worthwhile answer is bleaching - which after 50 years of smoking I might try!
Must be done professionally and IS expensive - but my savings on smoking will cover it in 4/6 months.
I,m going to ask my dentist what the non-financial pro's and con's are.

they do work, considering my dentist recommended them to me. you actually have to use them, though...every night to see results.
I can tell what NOT to use...
I paid approx £150 to my dentist for a bleaching treatment, I had moulds specially made to fit my mouth, and I filled them with bleach every night.
I have only managed to use it two or three times and woke up with really bad toothache on all occasions, the bleach has made my teeth very very sensitive.
Wish Id never flamin' bothered!! : (
