What's suppose to go inside a retainer's case?

Question:
i forgot...is it suppose to be water and toothpaste? or any mouthwash?

Answers:
Usually just the retainer, but you could soak the retainer in mouthwash when you're not wearing it if you like. It's kind of a weird taste when you put it in, but it does keep it clean if you didn't have a chance to wash it. Otherwise, you don't need to store any mouthwash in the empty case - just remember to clean it every day or it gets gunky with saliva, etc.
My orthodontist told me to only put my retainer in my case.
