I suffered from Panic disorder and was diagnosed 5 years ago and didn't want to take any prescription medicine. I didn't know what I was going to do so I went to a bookstore and bought, The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook. You need to buy this book and take it very seriously, it saved me! There is also a chapter on medications and alternatives. The author is Edmund J. Bourne, Ph.D. I hope you try it because it REALLY worked for me, I was hopeless!

relax! meditate! even i used to take paxil, zoloft, zyprexa etal to overcome PSD (post traumatic stress disorder) as i'd met with a severe accident in 1998 december and was on a ventilator for 33 days at ETMC, tyler. but when i could'nt tolerate people speaking about me that i take such medications, i FIRMLY told my parents that i can control my impulsive behaviour without such medications and STOPPED them altogether and tried MEDITATION. i tell u, i works wonders. just try it.
